FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Bo Counts is a Fayetteville resident and owner of the local bar Pinpoint, but on Thursday night at the city's Lights of the Ozarks parade, he took on a different persona: Krampus.
Counts headed up a float portraying Krampus, the demonic creature of traditional European folklore known for punishing naughty children meant as a counterpart to Saint Nick.
In a Facebook post just hours after the parade, Counts said he was thrilled to finally check the Krampus parade appearance off his wish list. But after waking up the next morning to hate and complaints, he realized his float stirred controversy.
