Four Lucas County organizations will receive state grants to help fight housing instability and homelessness.
The Ohio Department of Development has announced $18.7 million in funding to support emergency shelters and prevention initiatives across Ohio.
Through the Emergency Shelter Operations Awards, the Beach House and the Toledo Community Service Center will receive $147,900 and $288,800, respectively, in grants to operate their emergency shelters in Lucas County.
Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo has been awarded $86,700 to serve homeless families in Richland County.
The programs expect to serve 450, 432, and 200 people, respectively, during the two-year grant period.
