New Delhi: Former Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram has sparked a fresh round of debate in the cricketing world after taking a swipe at the Indian Premier League, suggesting its long duration affects the overall viewing experience. Speaking at a promotional event for the Pakistan Super League, Akram praised the PSL’s shorter format and claimed it delivers better quality cricket compared to the IPL .
Akram argued that modern franchise leagues need to strike a balance between entertainment and length and felt the IPL which now runs for more than two months has gone beyond that point.
