Raul Malo, lead singer and guitarist of The Mavericks, has died at the age of 60, the band has announced in a statement.
Malo announced a colon cancer diagnosis in summer 2024, and his representatives have confirmed this was his cause of death.
‘It’s with the deepest grief we share the passing of our friend, bandmate and brother Raul Malo on December 8th, 2025 at the age of 60,’ the country band announced on social media.
