Denny's , which calls itself "America's diner," is nearing its goal of closing 150 locations by the end of 2025, but it's unclear whether any of the chain's dozen Michigan locations are still in danger of closing.

The restaurant chain announced last year it would close underperforming restaurants. In February, the company said it had shut down 88 locations in 2024 and planned to shutter another 70 to 90 by the end of this year.

Newsweek recently reported more locations closed in California, Idaho, Massachusetts, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Texas. The company has not released a comprehensive list of closures.

None of the sites listed as closing have been in Michigan, which are all franchised or licensed locations according to the company's 2024 annual report.
