Free agent slugger Kyle Schwarber will return to the Philadelphia Phillies as the two sides are reportedly finalizing a five-year, $150 million contract, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN 's Jeff Passan on Tuesday (December 9).
"Kyle Schwarber is coming back to Philadelphia, agreeing to a five-year, $150 million contract that gives the Phillies a much-needed power boost and should pave the way for more free agent signings in the coming week," Passan wrote on his X account.
Schwarber, 32, reportedly opted to return to the Phillies over offers from the New York Mets, Boston Red Sox , Baltimore Orioles, Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds.
