A federal judge in Massachusetts has struck down the Trump administration’s nationwide pause on new offshore wind energy permits.

Judge Patti Saris on Monday found that the administration's multi-agency halt on wind project review is "arbitrary and capricious." The government may not indefinitely freeze an entire industry's permitting process without a clear legal basis or reasoned explanation, the court found.
