MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - A southeast Missouri jury found a man guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm on Friday, December 5.

According to the Mississippi County prosecuting attorney’s office, the jury found Deriechess Moore, of Charleston, guilty in less than 15 minutes.

They say he is a prior and persistent felony offender and now faces up to 10 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.

Sentencing will be scheduled later.

According to the prosecuting attorney’s office, the conviction stems from a June 2, 2023 incident.

Investigators with the Mississippi County Sheriff’s Office and the Charleston Department of Public Safety responded to reports of Moore driving recklessly and pointing a gun at people.
