Jasprit Bumrah on Tuesday (December 9) became the second Indian to take 100 wickets in T20Is. However, the historic moment was marred by a controversy, stemming from a likely umpiring error.

It happened in the 11th over of the second innings in the first T20I between India and South Africa at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. The Proteas were already reeling at 68/6 in the chase of 176, and Suryakumar Yadav brought his best bowler back to wrap things up.

Bumrah went with a heavy short ball outside off stump to Dewal Brevis, who miscued his hoick off a top-edge to Suryakumar at cover. The Indian team celebrated and Brevis, angry with himself, rushed off the field.
