Phillipsburg town council is weighing whether to remove an all-way stop sign at Raymond Street and Summit Avenue following a resident’s request to change the traffic pattern.
The resident, identified in town records only as Jennifer, asked the council to take down the signs and said she believed no petition was required to install them originally. She told council members that a study of the intersection suggested a stop sign did not need to be installed there.
A public comment period was opened during a regular meeting in November. Minutes for that meeting were not available as of Tuesday.
Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday inside the Phillipsburg Senior Center to discuss the matter and vote.
