STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Authorities are responding to a report of a gas leak in West Brighton on Tuesday morning.

The incident was reported at 10:44 a.m. at 899 Castleton Avenue between Bement Avenue and Oakland Avenue, according to a spokesperson for the FDNY/EMS.

A third-party contractor caused the leak and the full scope of the damage still is to be determined. No injuries were reported, according to a spokesman for National Grid.

FDNY responded to the incident.
