On the heels of the Kyle Schwarber signing, the Phillies announced that they’ve extended Rob Thomson’s contract through the 2027 season. Bob Cooney has more from Orlando.
The Phillies have announced Rob Thomson will manage through the 2027 season.
The move comes less than two months after the club extended him into 2026 on Oct. 13, effectively adding a second guaranteed year to his deal and securing continuity in the dugout.

Thomson, 61, has led the Phillies to four straight postseason appearances, including two NL East titles and a National League pennant.
After taking over in June of 2022, his tenure began with a 65–46 turnaround in that pushed the club to the World Series.
