ATLANTA — Atlanta Police are investigating a deadly shooting on the Westside early Monday morning in the Baker Hills neighborhood.

According to APD, 30-year-old Darryl Long was found shot to death in the street on Cornell Boulevard. They said they're working through ballistic evidence at this time.

The incident happened just before 6 a.m., police added.

11Alive's Dan Kennedy went to the scene, where a car was towed from the site — though it was unclear what connection the car may have had to the incident.

A neighbor who spoke to 11Alive said they heard two gunshots during the 5 a.m. hour, something they'd never heard in 60 years living on the street.

“I don’t care where you are, everybody needs to be careful,” the neighbor said.
