Hoda Kotb couldn’t be happier.

After Sheinelle Jones was announced as Jenna Bush Hager ’s permanent co-host during Today ’s fourth hour—with the show renamed as Today With Jenna & Sheinelle starting in January—the former host showered her successor with insight.

“She goes, ‘Don’t say anything, just listen,’ and she gave me 45 seconds of just wisdom that changed me,” Sheinelle said of her phone call with Hoda during Today With Jenna & Friends on Dec. 8. “I’ll give you one part of it.
