A U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer is under arrest and faces federal charges tied to the alleged sexual assault and robbery of multiple women in Chicago’s suburbs in 2022, prosecutors say.
Luis Uribe, 44, of Pingree Grove, is charged in a 12-page indictment with 10 counts of deprivation of civil rights under color of law, and one count of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.
Uribe was arrested Tuesday morning, prosecutors say. He appeared in custody at the Dirksen Federal Courthouse Tuesday afternoon sporting a beard and wearing a white polo shirt.
The accusations date back nearly four years and are not tied to the aggressive deportation campaign involving CBP officers that hit Chicago this fall. Uribe worked as a customs and immigration officer assigned primarily
