On Tuesday at 1:20 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning valid from Wednesday 4 a.m. until Thursday 1 p.m. for Oneida County.

"Total snow accumulations between 6 and 12 inches. Wind gusts to 30 mph on Thursday," can be expected according to the weather service. "The first round of steady snow moves in quickly Wednesday morning and continues through the day. There could be a brief lull in the snow Wednesday afternoon or early evening before more lake effect and upslope snow develops Wednesday night into Thursday. It turns much colder Wednesday night into Thursday with increasing winds, and possible blowing snow."
