Dollar General is paying more than $1.5 million in penalties for allegedly overcharging Pennsylvania customers.
Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced the settlement Tuesday, saying an investigation found the chain failed 40% of pricing accuracy inspections between 2019 and 2023. Advertisement
As part of the settlement, Dollar General also "agreed to improve their business practices through employee training and sufficient staffing," the announcement said.
"Our investigation found widespread and repeated instances of Pennsylvanians being overcharged at checkout — blatant deception of customers all over the commonwealth," Sunday said. "We are hopeful the corporation takes this settlement very seriously as Pennsylvanians expect to pay the price that is on stick
