MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Road construction taking place on North 18th Street and Forsythe Avenue from Hudson Lane to Bayou Desiard is causing concerns to the community, including traffic and safety hazards for drivers.
Workers are there Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Public Information Officer for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, Erin Buchanan, says they’re trying to prevent as much traffic as possible. Buchanan mentions she’s aware of rush hour traffic and wants to help relieve the community to the best of her ability.
“We try to help alleviate the traffic burden as much as possible. Sometimes it’s not completely possible to avoid any inconvenience related to roadway construction,” Buchanan says. “We really do try to plan as much as possible to tr
