Bobby McMann has been suspended for one game by the NHL.
The suspension for the Maple Leafs winger was announced early on Tuesday night after McMann had a hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety.
McMann was assessed a match penalty for high-sticking against the Tampa Bay Lightning during the Leafs’ 2-0 victory on Monday night . McMann brought his stick down on Lightning forward Oliver Bjorkstrand in the third period.
Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, McMann will forfeit $7,031.25 US. The money goes to the players’ emergency assistance fund.
