Sophia Guzman of Rio Rico High School was named Player of the Year in the 4A Gila Region, and another 19 Santa Cruz County athletes and two coaches received postseason volleyball recognition from the Arizona Interscholastic Association.

Guzman, a senior hitter, led the five-school Gila Region in kills (376) and hitting percentage (.321). She was second in serving aces (99) and third in digs (209), according to AIA statistics powered by MaxPreps.com . ×
