A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is slated to launch 27 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit Wednesday, Dec. 10, between 12:54 a.m. and 4:54 from Space Launch Complex 4 East.
The early-hours launch is driven by orbital mechanics which ensures the vehicle will reach the precise point in space required to execute mission objectives, base officials said.
Residents in Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura counties may hear one or more sonic booms approximately 8-10 minutes post launch, however, what residents experience will depend on weather and other conditions, officials noted.
