WESTLAKE, Ohio -- The Westlake Board of Education passed a resolution of appreciation at its meeting Monday (Dec. 8), thanking board member Barbara Leszynski for her nearly 14 years of service on the board and for her contributions to the district.
Monday night marked Leszynski’s last board meeting. Her term expires at the end of the year.
She did not run for re-election in November. She first joined the board in March 2012 .
The board’s resolution cited Leszynski’s leadership as having been instrumental in the district being recognized by the State of Ohio “as a leader in educational excellence and financial reporting.”
Before joining the board, Leszynski, a retired middle school science teacher, accumulated 30 years of teaching experience.
