GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — "It's been a bit of a shock."
That's how Pastor Tim Cross at Living Word Muskegon described recent times for the community.
"We do a monthly prayer thing to get churches to pray over Muskegon County," Cross said. "And as of October, the beginning of October, this was a historically low year in terms of crime and murder. They were like, 'We can't almost believe this.'"
"And then these last month and a half or so has hit," he said.
The current circumstances have led him to feel a need to step up.
"We feel like we need to try, in terms of the community, what can we do to get the churches to respond at this point in prayer and rally," he said.
"People are responding that this is not right, this- we've got to do something, something's got to be done," he said.
