OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A bicyclist has died after being hit by a vehicle near 32 Avenue and Hickory Street Tuesday evening.

At 6:44 p.m., a bicyclist was southbound on S. 32nd Avenue when a southbound Chevy Tahoe struck him near Hickory Street, according to Omaha police.

The 48-year-old bicyclist was taken to Nebraska Medicine with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

The car was traveling at a slow speed, and it appears alcohol or drugs will not be a factor in the crash, per police.

The bicyclist was not wearing a helmet.

The investigation is ongoing.
