A doctor for the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians has received the 2025 Outstanding Physician Award from the Indiana University School of Medicine in South Bend for his work serving the citizens of the tribal nation and the surrounding community.

The Pokagons say Dr. Gerald “Jerry” Morris is the medical director of Pokagon Health Services, serves as an adjunct clinical assistant professor of Family Medicine at the university, and teaches resident physicians in the Memorial Family Residence Program. He received his award at a ceremony held at the school’s annual Medicine Ball fundraiser.
