The Green Bay Police Department is putting forward a $1.3 million contract with tech security company Flock Security. The contract would add to four drones to the police's arsenal as first responders.
To use the drones, the company would be a guiding hand for the city, helping to secure FAA permits and train personnel to operate the drones.
The police chief said that the drones would alleviate the department's chronic staffing issues. Even with a full staff, however, the department would not be able to keep up with call demand.
To ease chronic staffing issues , the Green Bay Police Department is looking to drones to act as the police department's first response to 911 calls, part of a $1.3 million agreement with security technology company Flock Safety .
