New charges have been filed against a Lancaster man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl years ago, the Lancaster City Bureau of Police announced in an update on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Through further investigation, detectives filed additional charges against Raul Lopez-Fargas, 37, in both Lancaster City and East Lampeter Township, according to the release.

East Lampeter Township Police charged Lopez-Fargas on Wednesday, Nov. 26, with Rape of a Child, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Child, Indecent Assault Person Less than 13 Years of Age, Indecent Exposure, Corruption of Minors, and Endangering the Welfare of Children, investigators said.

Lancaster City detectives filed new charges on Tuesday, Dec. 9, including Solicitation of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Child, Solicitation of Rape of a Child, Indecent Exposure, Aggravated Indecent Assault of a Child, and Indecent Assault of a Child, police detailed in the update.

These charges expand on the original case Detective Harry Valverde began investigating in October 2025 following a child welfare referral from Lancaster County Children and Youth. Police said Lopez-Fargas sexually assaulted a 7-year-old girl in 2017.

The child, now older, disclosed during a forensic interview at the Lancaster County Children’s Alliance Center that Lopez-Fargas assaulted her multiple times inside a home on South Duke Street. According to the affidavit, Lopez-Fargas later came to the police station voluntarily and admitted to the conduct on two separate occasions.

Lopez-Fargas was arrested at his home on the 500 block of South Duke Street on Thursday, Nov. 13, and charged with Aggravated Indecent Assault of a Child, Indecent Assault, Corruption of Minors, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, according to the release.

Lopez-Fargas was denied bail and booked into Lancaster County Prison, according to his docket.

As investigators continued their work, other victims were identified. Police say the investigation remains active.
