North Hills appeared to be headed for a lopsided defeat Tuesday night.
Instead, the Indians staged one of the biggest comeback wins in the WPIAL this season.
Nathan Schanbacher pumped in a game-high 34 points and North Hills rallied from a 19-point third-quarter deficit to capture an 83-80 win against visiting Shaler in a non-section game.
North Hills (2-1) trailed by 14 points at the half and by 19 midway through the third quarter before storming back. After pulling within nine points after three quarters, the Indians outscored Shaler (1-3), 31-19, in the fourth.
Schanbacher had a big game for the Indians, going 11 of 11 from the free-throw line and scoring 13 of his points in the fourth quarter. Jackson Long added 15 points and Ethan Gruszczynski a career-high 14.
