SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County medical examiner has ruled that 4-year-old Josiah Cabral, who police say was shot in his home in northwest San Antonio around 3 p.m. Monday, died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Records show he was pronounced dead at the hospital 34 minutes after the call for help reached the first responders who tried to save him at the residence on Windstone Creek.
Police Chief William McManus said the boy was home with his mother and father, adding that the father tried to resuscitate his son while medics rushed to the scene.
Kayleigh, a neighbor who lives nearby, said she grew up in the area. She said it was a hard, heartbreaking day for her neighbors.
"It's just been so, so sad. I mean, the whole street, you could feel it yesterday, was very distraught," Kayleig
