Coventry City have suffered another potential personnel blow after Josh Eccles limped off with a calf injury at Preston North End.
The midfielder was “struggling to move” after taking the knock in the first half of the Sky Blues 1-1 draw at Deepdale when he was replaced by Victor Torp – the Dane just having come back from illness at the weekend.
City were also without first choice right-back Milan van Ewijk on the night, the defender having gone down ill on Sunday at a time when Lampard’s small squad continues to be stretched.
Asked what Eccles has done, the head coach said: “He’s got a bang on his calf, which he said was very sore. He was struggling to move after it so we’ll have to see.”
It’s unclear at this stage how serious the injury is and how long he will be out.
