Angelina County has some great Christmas traditions. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Pumping Unit has to be one of the most unique holiday sights in the state of Texas. A massive oil pumpjack adorned like Rudolph (complete with antlers), bobbing up and down throughout the Christmas season, is one of East Texas' proudest holiday decorations.

Another East Texas Christmas tradition that is always highly anticipated is the First United Methodist Church's presentation of An Evening in Old Bethlehem. Numerous church members transform the grounds of the George H. Henderson, Jr. Expo Center in Lufkin into the small village of Bethlehem, similar to how it was at the time of the birth of Christ.
