TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - New details have emerged regarding the arrest of Vamsi Potiny, the 42-year-old son accused of abandoning his father on top of Mount Lemmon earlier this year.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department tell us Potiny was arrested and charged today with manslaughter, kidnapping, and vulnerable adult abuse. He was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex.

These new charges stem from the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of his father, Sitharamanjaneyulu Potiny, who was reported missing in late August.

PCSD say Sitharamanjane yulu is still considered a missing vulnerable adult.

Anyone with information that may help investigators is urged to call 911.
