A Santa Fe man was arrested Sunday evening after, police said, he broke into a church and tried to steal tools and other items.
Santa Fe police went to First Presbyterian School and Church, 208 Grant Ave., after a caller reported seeing a man in the basement via a Ring camera. Police took Anthony Quezada, 46, into custody as he exited the building.
Police checked the area "and located a large rolling cart filled with church property that had been taken, including a Craftsman toolbox, tool bags, hand tools, and electrical equipment," police wrote in a news release. They also said they found "a damaged window consistent with forced entry," damage to an office and that a staff member's vehicle had been broken into.
