Professor husband held 4 years after wife's murder following forensic brain test

More than four years after the murder of his wife on Diwali, the Chandigarh Police on Monday arrested her husband, a Punjab University professor, whom the police suspected to be the murderer right from the very beginning, following forensic psychological tests, including Brain Electrical Oscillation Signature (BEOS) profiling - a non-invasive forensic technique using EEG to detect if a person has experiential knowledge of a crime by analysing their brainwave patterns - indicating he had experiential knowledge of the crime.

Seema Goyal, 60, was found murdered on Diwali morning on November 4, 2021 inside the official residence of her husband BB Goyal, a Punjab University Business School (UBS) professor, on the university campus. Her hands and feet were tied with cloth, and postmortem conf
