OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) -Officials from Marion County Fire Rescue announced that the groundbreaking ceremony for a new fire station marks a significant milestone in expanding their services.
Tuesday, fire officials kicked off the construction of Lowell Station 11 at the Florida State Fire College. The new building will be more than double the size of the old station, increasing from 4,000 square feet to 14,000 square feet.
Leaders believe that the new station will enhance coverage for the unincorporated community of Lowell and strengthen the department’s relationship with the fire college.
