The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, addressed the Human Rights Day celebration organised by the National Human Rights Commission in New Delhi on December 10, 2025.
She emphasised that universal human rights remain inalienable and form the bedrock of a just, equitable, and compassionate society.
Furthermore, the President recalled that seventy-seven years ago, the world united to affirm that every human being is born free and equal in dignity and rights. She highlighted India’s significant role in shaping the global human rights framework and underlined the vision of freedom fighters who dreamed of a world rooted in dignity, equality, and justice.
