Her history, however, carries far more pain than anyone would expect.

Avery’s Journey Begins

Avery is a three-year-old Pit Bull whose early life was filled with fear and mistreatment. After being removed from that unsafe home, she spent the next two years living inside a shelter .

At the Marion County Humane Society in Knoxville, Iowa, her current caregivers work hard to make her feel safe and valued. They admire how appreciative Avery is for every act of kindness she receives.
