The Monroe County Sheriff’s Invitational is always a showcase of the best wrestling talent in the Monroe County Region.

There will be plenty to show at the Jefferson Recreation Center on Saturday, Dec. 13.

The meet will feature six state champions, 17 other state placers and 11 state qualifiers.

Dundee, Bedford, New Boston Huron, Airport, Erie Mason, Flat Rock, Ida, Jefferson, Monroe and St. Mary Catholic Central all are scheduled to compete.

The only Region team that will not test itself at the Sheriff’s Invitational is Gibraltar Carlson.

The Marauders have one state placer and a pair of qualifiers on their roster.

Most of the list is comprised of boys, but the rapidly growing girls sport also is well represented in the Region. Two of the returning placers are girls and two qualifie
