Prep Basketball: Five defending champs rated No. 1 in preseason poll

Five of the six defending state championship teams are rated No. 1 in the preseason South Dakota Prep Media Basketball Poll for the 2025-26 season.

Top-rated boys basketball teams include defending champions Sioux Falls Christian in Class A and Castlewood in Class B. Sioux Falls Lincoln is rated No. 1 in Class AA.

Top-rated girls basketball teams include defending champions O'Gorman in Class AA, Sioux Falls Christian in Class A and Bennett County in Class B.
