Seton Hall Prep (1-2) took the lead on Carter McLoughlin’s goal with 38 seconds left in the first period. Then, in the second, Seton Hall Prep extended its lead when Ryan Tolkacz and Dylan Mesler scored goals in a span of 3:45.
Nicholas Wierzbowski added a third period goal in the win and Ben Winston had two assists.
Kenny Johnson made 35 saves for Bergen Catholic (1-1), which cut the deficit to 3-1 with Carter Edmonds’s goal in the second period.
