Harmonising hedgehogs hitting the high notes in a rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody, water pistols fired with alarming accuracy and a topical swipe at controversial post-6pm parking charges - which gets one of the biggest cheers of the night - panto season has arrived.

Liverpool loves Christmas and we have some some proud traditions totally unique to our city. I’m thinking Christmas pyjamas, festive bedding and the legendary Everyman Rock ‘n’ Roll pantomime . There’s a distinct hippy and trippy vibe to this year’s Everyman offering with Chloe Moss’ Jack and the Beanstalk billed as “part fairy tale, part concert and 100% fun”.
