New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, held a nearly two-hour closed-door meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday to finalise the key appointment to the Central Information Commission (CIC).
The discussion also covered the selection of the Chief Information Commissioner, eight Information Commissioners, and the Vigilance Commissioner in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).
Sources told ANI that during the discussion Rahul Gandhi has given a dissent note on the selection of the officials. Gandhi has reportedly submitted a written note of dissent during the meeting to finalise the appointments to the key transparency bodies, including that of the CIC and the CVC.
Reports said Gandhi disagreed with the choice of names
