2$50,000 Powerball ticket sold in Silver Spring as jackpot surges toward $930 million
SILVER SPRING, MD – One Powerball player in Silver Spring came just one number shy of the massive jackpot in Monday’s drawing but still walked away with a $50,000 prize, according to the Maryland Lottery.
The winning ticket matched four of the five white balls plus the red Powerball, qualifying for the game’s third-tier prize. The lucky ticket was sold at the Columbia Road Exxon at 12601 Old Columbia Pike in Montgomery County. The winning numbers for the December 8 drawing were 8, 32, 52, 56, 64 and Powerball 23.
While no one hit the jackpot, the grand prize has now climbed to an estimated $930 million for the next drawing on Wednesday, with a cash option of approximately $429 million. It remains one
