In view of the rising number of fire incidents across Pimpri Chinchwad, the Fire Department of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has appealed to citizens, housing societies, and commercial establishments to strictly adhere to fire safety regulations.
The department warned that storing unused materials or flammable items in staircases, corridors, terraces, and common areas significantly increases the risk of fire. Such obstructions can accelerate the spread of flames and smoke, making evacuation and rescue operations extremely difficult during emergencies.
Officials stressed that all unnecessary, combustible, or obstructive items must be removed immediately. If disposal is not possible, these should be stored safely outside the building. Blocked escape routes, smoke-filled
