CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) officials will hold a news conference Wednesday morning to provide more details on the approved Building Brighter Futures (BBF) plan.

19 News will stream the news conference live at 10 a.m.

CMSD school board members unanimously passed the recommendation at their meeting Tuesday evening.

Starting in the 2026-27 academic year, the BBF plan will result in 45 PreK-8 schools and 14 high schools, 29 fewer schools than currently in operation today.

All high schools will provide college and career pathways, and all elementary schools will offer enrichment courses.

While the middle school will offer sports and activities to some students who went to schools where the number of students was too low to offer extras like sport
