ROGERS, Ark — Federal law enforcement is now assisting in the investigation of the deaths of Charity Powell-Beallis and her two six-year-old children, who were found dead inside their Bonanza home on Dec. 3.
The Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Secret Service are now supporting local authorities, according to the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office.
Chris Baker, an attorney at Horton Law Firm, not related to the Sebastian County case, spoke to 5NEWS on Dec. 9, explaining that federal government assistance in criminal cases is not uncommon.
“I generally feel the federal government gets involved a little more than most people think… It's everything from your Amber Alerts to, quite certainly, any violent crimes, gang activity, drugs," Baker said.
