Fans of the CW series “The Vampire Diaries” have a chance to immerse themselves in the world of the New Orleans-set spinoff show “ The Originals ” next year, and tickets to the most exclusive local events are selling for more than $1,800.

For two nights, The Original Experience will offer fans in the Crescent City a chance to attend a glamorous ball and a convention at The Ritz-Carlton in the French Quarter.

The spinoff centers on the fictional Mikaelson family, the first vampires ever created in “The Vampire Diaries” universe, and their return to New Orleans for the first time since the early 1900s. Largely filmed in Georgia, the crew also shot in New Orleans.
