It’s coming up to one of Manchester Airport’s busiest travel periods as thousands of passengers prepare to jet off for the festive period. While the schools haven’t broken up yet, travellers without kids or children outside of school age are making the most of Christmas market getaways and winter sun escapes.
But flying at this time of the year does come with the risk of adverse weather which can result in delays and cancellations. This is on top of other factors which can impact flight schedules such as strike action or Air Traffic Control staffing issues.
On Tuesday, passengers due to fly were urged to monitor their flight status closely as Storm Bram battered the UK and Ireland with strong winds and heavy rain. Ryanair warned passengers of potential disruption due to the weather.
