Ambitious plans for a radical makeover of one of the West End’s tallest buildings have been given the go ahead by Westminster council.
The former BhS flagship, better known as the site of the UAL College of Fashion, at 33 Cavendish Square one block west of Oxford Circus , was built in 1963.
Under proposals from Berkeley Estate Asset Management and architects KPF the modernist building will undergo a “deep retrofit” to be turned into “state-of-the-art office space and flagship retail designed for the next generation of businesses and brands.”
The development will have 800,000 sq ft of Grade-A office space, 102,000 sq ft of retail space behind 300 metres of street frontage, and 38,000 sq ft dedicated to cultural and creative activities, including a new auditorium, event venues, and stud
