Beloved author Sophie Kinsella has tragically passed away at the age of 55 following a battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer , her family has announced. ‌

The mother-of-five, celebrated for her bestselling Confessions of a Shopaholic series and whose real name was Madeleine Sophie Wickham, was diagnosed with glioblastoma in 2022. ‌

A heartfelt statement shared on her Instagram account revealed: "We are heartbroken to announce the passing this morning of our beloved Sophie (aka Maddy, aka Mummy). ‌
